Deployment Guide

Network Requirements

Establish robust network foundations for Wildlands Technologies platforms with guidance on connectivity, bandwidth, security configurations, and infrastructure readiness.

Network Infrastructure Overview

Reliable, secure network connectivity is essential for delivering responsive, available public safety platforms to dispatchers, field personnel, and administrators.

Performance Requirements

Optimize bandwidth and latency to support real-time operational workflows without delay.

Security Controls

Implement secure access, encryption, segmentation, and monitoring aligned with agency policies.

Redundancy & Availability

Establish failover paths and backup connectivity for mission-critical systems environments.

Configuration Standards

Align firewall rules, DNS services, certificate management, and endpoint policies with deployment models.

1. Bandwidth & Latency Guidelines

  • Minimum 50 Mbps download / 10 Mbps upload per 50 users for core platform access
  • Low-latency connections (under 50ms) recommended for dispatch and mobile applications
  • Dedicated circuits preferred for mission-critical sites such as dispatch centers
  • Quality of Service (QoS) policies to prioritize voice, video, and operational traffic
  • Scalable bandwidth planning to accommodate growth and seasonal usage fluctuations

2. Redundancy & Failover Standards

  • Multiple ISP connections or diverse routing paths for primary facilities
  • Automatic failover mechanisms for critical network segments
  • Backup cellular or satellite links for remote/mobile field units
  • UPS power protection for network equipment in essential operational areas
  • Regular testing of redundancy procedures and failover performance

3. Firewall & Security Configurations

  • Allow HTTPS (TCP 443) outbound to Wildlands platform service domains
  • Whitelisting of CDN, API, and media service endpoints based on current documentation
  • Intrusion detection and prevention systems for perimeter monitoring
  • Regular vulnerability scanning and patch management for network components
  • Segregation of operational networks from general purpose/guest device access

4. DNS & Certificate Management

  • Valid time synchronization across network infrastructure for session validity
  • Local DNS resolvers capable of resolving external service domains
  • Support for modern TLS cipher suites and certificate validation in clients
  • Proxy or content filtering configured to allow platform endpoints and assets
  • Monitoring of certificate expiration with automated renewal processes

5. Wireless & Mobile Networking

  • Secure Wi-Fi with WPA3 or latest encryption standard for agency-managed devices
  • Adequate access point density for full coverage in dispatch, records, and mobile areas
  • SIM-card or carrier-based connectivity for mobile fleet with sufficient data plans
  • Remote management capabilities for mobile device fleet networking
  • VPN gateway support for secure remote access by authorized personnel
